Select cards

To select a card, click its border. The entire card will be highlighted in blue to indicate that it is selected.

To select a range of adjacent cards, click a card and, without releasing the mouse button, drag over the other cards.

To select non-adjacent cards, select a first card, then select the other cards while holding down the Ctrl key.

To select all cards in a row, double-click the row number. The row number is highlighted in blue when all cards in a row are selected.

To select all cards in a track, click the track name at the top of the surtitle board. The track and all its cards will be selected.

To select all cards, choose Edit > Select All.

To cancel the selection, press Esc.

Tip

You can also select cards using the keyboard. Place the text cursor in a card, then press Ctrl+Space. The card containing the cursor will be selected. To select additional cards, hold down Shift and extend the selection using the arrow keys or a keyboard shortcut.

Insert rows of cards

To insert a new row of cards, place the text cursor in a card, then choose Cards > Insert Row Above or Insert Row Below. A new row of cards will be inserted below or above the card containing the text cursor.

To insert multiple new rows of cards, select multiple cards, then choose Box > Insert Row Above or Insert Row Below. A new row of cards will be inserted below or above each selected card.

Insert card & shift up

Insert Card & Shift Down allows you to insert a card while shifting the cards below it downwards. You can perform this operation to correct a misalignment between cards on different tracks.

To insert a new card and shift down, place the text cursor in a card, then choose Card > Insert Card Below or Insert Card Above. A new card will be inserted below or above the card containing the text cursor, and the subsequent cards will be shifted.

To insert and shift down multiple cards, select multiple cards, then choose Cards > Insert > Card Above & Shift Down or Card Below & Shift Down. A new card will be inserted below or above each selected card, and the subsequent cards will be shifted down.

Delete card contents

To delete the contents of one or more cards, select the cards, then press Delete. When all cards in a row are selected, the row will also be deleted.

Delete rows of cards

To delete one or more rows of cards, select the rows to be deleted, then choose Cards > Delete Rows or press Delete.

Tip

You can also delete the row where the text cursor is located by choosing Cards > Delete Rows or pressing Alt+Delete.

Delete cards & shift down

Delete Cards & Shift Up allows you to delete cards while shifting upward all cards below them. You can use this operation to correct misalignments between cards across different tracks.

To delete and shift up one or more cards, select the cards that you want to delete, then choose Cards > Delete Cards & Shift Up or press Backspace.

Tip

You can also delete and shift up the card containing the text cursor by choosing Cards > Delete Rows or pressing Alt+Backspace.

Merge cards

Merging cards allows you to combine the lines from multiple cards into a single one.

To merge a card with the next card, place the text cursor in a card, then choose Cards > Merge Cards.

To merge multiple cards, select one or more sets of adjacent cards, then choose Cards > Merge Cards. Only adjacent cards on the same track will be merged together.

Split cards

Splitting a card allows you to separate the text on a card into several separate cards.

To split a card in two, place the cursor in the middle of the text, then choose Cards > Split Cards. The text before the cursor will be placed in the first card and the text after the cursor in the second.

To split a card into multiple card, select a card containing more than one line, then choose Cards > Split Cards. Each line in the card will be separated and placed into its own card.

To split a set of cards, select multiple cards containing more than one line, then choose Cards > Split Cards. Each line across the selected cards will be separated and placed into its own card.

Copy and paste cards

Koinè allows you to copy cards and paste them elsewhere or in another project.

To copy or cut cards, select the cards, then choose Edit > Copy or Cut. This operation stores the cards into the clipboard.

To paste the cards, place the text cursor in a card, then choose Edit > Paste. The cards stored on the clipboard will be inserted below the cursor.

To paste cards while replacing existing cards, select the cards to be replaced, then choose Edit > Paste. The selected cards will be replaced by the cards stored on the clipboard.

Go to a row number

You can quickly move to a row by entering its number.

Choose Edit > Go To, type the desired row number, and press the Enter key.
